V.A. Music Is Life... Music Treasure Box visits Tommenton en la Cuarda (Garage & Psych)

Realmente estoy muy orgulloso de presentaros esta recopilación que me envía mi amiga Catherine del blog "Music Is Life". Hace poco recibí un correo suyo invitándome a visitar su blog, y me sorprendió por el cuidado con que estaban seleccionados los discos que publicaba, y así a partir de esto, comenzamos a tener contacto.
Los que me conocéis, ya sabéis que tengo una serie de garage-folk titulada "Holidays in Greece" que van publicando mis blogs amigos de ese país, y  ya tenía otro volumen terminado asi que  le comenté de hacer un intercambio, a lo que ella aceptó de inmediato y este es el resultado de lo que ella me ha enviado, un disco recopilatorio de garage y estilos cercanos, pero realizado con un mimo exquisito con una selección espectacular de bandas, la mayoría desconocidas, muchas de ese garage oscuro que tanto me gusta.

Bueno, os dejo la presentación que Catherine me ha enviado, eso sí, en inglés, o sea que los garrulos como yo ya sabéis: al "translate":

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Catherine. She grew up in a wealthy family listening mostly to Bach & Vivaldi. Luckily her mother’s younger brother was a rocker….

So, at the same time she loved The Beatles, The Animals, The Stones, The Swinging Blues Jeans etc. When she was a high-school student, she learned about the Doors, Led Leppelin, Deep Purple & Pink Floyd.  She was spending all of her money in record stores…. That went on and on!

Thus, she became a lonely vinyl collector.

Until internet came into her life…!!! So she met a lot of remarkable people with the same music taste and she felt great!!!

Enough about me!  I don’t even know why I’m speaking for myself in the third person – maybe I just wanted to tell a story in a “fairytale” way.

I’d like to thank my dearest friend and “brother” Panagiotis Bogris who had the idea for a music blog and asked me to be his partner three years ago. That’s how Music Is Life was born! And we’re still here!

Two years later we decided to separate the “new” and the “old“  music, so “Music Is Life: Music Treasure Box”  made its first steps. “ Music Treasure Box“ is my “child” and I’m very proud of it, but I have to admit that I could never do that without Panagiotis’ support.  While Panagiotis is searching for great contemporary indie music,  I’m digging the past. A great team indeed!

It’s seems that my humble blog have reached the hearts of other great music bloggers and I’m glad.

I’d rather say I’m proud…

When Jose asked me to make a compilation for “Tommenton en la Cuarda” blog, I felt so good!!!

Jose, thank you very much!  I’m honored…  I hope you like the songs I’ve chosen!

Finally, I want to say “hello”  to the fans & visitors of Tommenton en la Cuarda. I’d like to think you’ve enjoyed this compilation…

Lo de los tres temas, esta vez si que ha estado complicado, tendríais que ver el papel que tengo con los números de pistas seleccionados, un montón, pero al final han quedado estos tres, aunque podían ser cualquier del disco. Buena señal:

Bueno amigos, creo que estamos ante una obra excepcional, y no es cortesia de la casa, sino la pura verdad, desde que lo he recibido lo he escuchado un montón de veces y me gustan todos los temas sin excepción. Quizás con esa intuición que tienen las mujeres ha sabido detectar mis gustos, si es así, a acertado de lleno.
Nada mas, os recomiendo os deis un paseo por "Music is Life" y disfruteis del menú que Catherine ha incluido para delicia de todos.
