V.A. Highs In The Mid Six, Complete Collection, Part. 2, Vols. 9-16

Pues continuamos con esta excitante serie, que contrariamente a lo que pensaba, y a raíz de los comentarios recibidos no todo el mundo la tenía.

Sigue la tónica de separar los volúmenes por estados o por regiones y eso nos da ocasión de comprobar lo diferente que era la música en un sitio o en otro, pudiendo apreciar que en muchos sitios tenían su sonido propio y que poco tenía que ver con lo que se hacía en los otros estados.

Es el caso de los volúmenes dedicados al Northwest por ejemplo, que con dos volúmenes nos deleitan con sus buenos instrumentales y sus pesados temas con órganos omnipresentes, sus mil variantes del Louie Louie o el salvajismo que los "Sonics" contagiaron a sus paisanos.

También tenemos tres volúmenes dedicados a Texas, con su garage rudo de muy pocas florituras y totalmente efectivo.

Completan estos ocho volúmenes los dedicados a Ohio, y a Wisconsin, estos últimos con dos volúmenes.

Varias han sido las colecciones que optaron por este formato de monográficos por estados, como los también famosos "Psychedelic States", que por cierto a día de hoy siguen sacando volúmenes, aunque comparándolos con estos "Highs In The Mid Sixties", quedan bastante por debajo.

Esta serie tenía también en su momento al aliciente añadido de contar con muchos temas no publicados en su día y que solo se podían encontrar ahí. Un buen trabajo de investigación que es muy de agradecer.

Y hablando de agradecer, siempre me gusta, si mi memoria lo permite, citar la fuente de donde obtuve los volúmenes, que en este caso corresponde al blog "Chocoreve", leyenda de la historia de los blogs y el mejor que ha habido sin duda y que ya hace bastantes homenajee en este blog publicando "Chocoreve Tribute", trabajo al que le tengo mucho cariño y que no estaría mal le echaseis una ojeada.
