V.A. 60's Garage Rock Jewels, Colección Completa (36 Vols). Parte 1ª, Vols 1 a 9. Compilado por Brayan Rangel

Pues arrancamos una nueva y extensa serie dedicada al garage por cortesía del ya asiduo de este blog Brayan Rangel, que ya he perdido la cuenta de las colecciones que ha presentado aquí, luego lo miro y os pongo los enlaces al final del post.

Pues esta colección la ha ido presentando durante el año pasado y este en su canal de YouTube, y coincide con el debate abierto en Internet, sobre estas compilaciones presentadas en una sola pista, y si había algún programa que la cortara pista por pista automáticamente sin ningún resultado, y justo Brayan me propone esta, que ya le tenía echado el ojo y el oído, pero que me daba pereza cortar todos los temas, cerca de setecientos, así que el me lo ha enviado y faena que me ahorro.

La colección es sumamente interesante, pues aparte de las conocidas, que son pocas, hay cosas realmente raras y difíciles de encontrar, del garage mas crudo así como algunos volúmenes dedicado a los sonidos europeos.

Pero bueno, mejor os lo explica Brayan:

Un gusto saludarlos nuevamente, bien, como lo prometido es deuda, estoy ansioso por compartirles un enorme proyecto que prepare desde 2021 llamado "Garage Rock Jewels", un extenso compilatorio de 36 volúmenes con lo mejor del garage rock de los años 60 tanto en Estados Unidos como lo destacado de Beat Europeo,. A mi parecer no fue nada complicado realizarlo aunque con mucha dedicación y el resultado es satisfactorio y muy entretenido.

Ha sido mi mejor proyecto en los últimos años y con las herramientas adecuadas y la mejor investigación posible les compartiré esta primera parte que consta del vol 1 a 9 .

En el primer volumen comenzamos con algunas canciones ya escuchadas y muy conocidas para los amantes del genero, bandas como "The Conductors" y su frenetica "She Said So", o la excelente canción de "The Bluea Magoos" "Gotta Get Away", o "The King Bees" con "Keep Lovin'", absolutamente salvaje y primitivo, también un gran cover de "The Who" esta vez versionada por "The Human Beinz", "My Generation", un gran inicio de esta colección

En el volumen dos encontramos bandas como "The Spades" quienes luego se conocerían como los "13th floor Elevators" con la version mas cruda de "You're Gomma miss me", absolutamente salvaje, o "The Starfyres" con su lado B "No room for your love", excelente canción. Tambien bandas sacadas del compilatorio "Pebbles" como "The Streys" o Peter Wheat & The Breadmen. 

Ya en el tercer volumen encontramos canciones mas Garage Punk inspirado en "Boulders vol 3": el muy escuchado "E.S.P" de "The Beaver Patrol", una banda muy desconocida que por el hecho de firmar con Columbia Records los hizo inmortales o "The Amberjacks" y su "Hey Eriq", salvaje y frenética, o "The Hangmen" con "Faces", entre otras grandes canciones, puro Garage Punk

El cuarto volumen sigue un poco la formula del volumen 3, la agrupación "Kack Click" quien lanzo un tremendo single en 1964, que suena fuera de su época con "Lord My Cell Is Cold" y "One More Day And One More Night", simplemente sensacionales, o "The Underwold" de Canada con el inédito "The Strange Experiment of Dr Jarrod" ruidosa y agresiva cancion de 1968, o la curiosa banda llamada "Machine Gun Kelly's Rejects" con "I'm Going Back" con sonidos fuera de su época

Ahora, en el volumen 5 nos desviamos un poco del camino, esta vez con la primera entrega de Moody Garage, baladas oscuras y un tanto deprimentes, que como lo decía mi amigo Jose, un subgénero algo difícil de digerir, esta vez con el imperdible clasico de "Danny and The Counts" con "Ode to The wind", o canciones sacadas de los míticos "Dark Clouds" como "The Rogues" y "Something Beautiful Is Dying", una gran canción de "The Ariel", "I love you" y esta interesante canción de "The Troyes" con "Love Comes, Love Dies".

Volvemos con el volumen 6, esta vez puro rock garage, como esta rara versión de "Under my Thumb" de "Kindred Spirit", o la agrupación de Texas "The Runaways" con "18th Floor Girl", obvio no generemos confusión con la conocida agrupación de "Joan Jett" de los 70s; también encontramos a "The Missing Links", y dos agrupaciones diferentes esta vez con "Come Inside My Heart" y "They Say You Lie".

El volumen 7 nos trae mas clásicos del genero como en este caso "Dean Kohler" con "Groseberry Pie", "The Impacts" con "Don't You Dare", "Mile Ends" con "Bottle Up And Go", mas que todo este volumen fue un compilado entre Essential Pebbles y Teenage Shutdown .

Continuamos con el volumen 8 con dos versiones de "I need Love", por "The Mad Hatters" y "The Time Stoppers", la oscura agrupación "Them USA", con "Her Kind", la salvaje canción "I Don't Need No One" de "The Four of US", no encontré mucha información de ellos, o la muy conocida "Cry A Little Longer" de "The Grodes" y la corta pero muy buena canción "So Good" de "The Ascots", un gran volumen para escuchar.

Y por último vamos con el volumen 9, esta vez con Beat Europeo influenciado por compilaciones como "WorldBeaters "o la misma "Pebbles" con la subserie "The Continent Lashes Back", eso si youtube tendrá la mira puesta para bloquearlos.

En fin, agrupaciones británicas al estilo R&B como "The Scorpions", destaque a muchas agrupaciones de Países Bajos ya que es un país con grandes rarezas del rock europeo, en mi opinión con un toque único, como "The Dukes", "The Mods" o "The Zipps", Alemania y su lado crudo y primitivo como "The Tiles" o "The Skins", no podia faltar, también Suecia con bandas como "The Panthers" o "The Lee Kings". Sin mas que decir una gran colección europea.
